Project guides / Plan a hedge tidy-up

Your project checklist

Plan a hedge tidy-up

Measure reach, check the site and plan green-waste removal before hiring a trimmer.

Five things to organise

Use this checklist to prepare a supplier brief. It is not an operating method.

  1. Measure hedge height, length and branch thickness from a safe location. Tell the supplier what you need to reach.
  2. Check for wires, hidden obstacles and wildlife. Arrange qualified help where the work cannot be completed safely from the ground.
  3. Ask about a suitable machine, power supply or batteries, and transport requirements.
  4. Compare hire with ownership if you trim frequently, or with a gardener’s complete service.
  5. Include clean-up and lawful green-waste disposal. Do not budget only for the time spent trimming.
This is a planning checklist. It is not a technical method or substitute for supplier instruction and professional advice.
