Privacy policy

OpenShed collects the details you submit when requesting hire assistance or registering supplier interest. Contact us at cisco@vc2plus.com about privacy, access, correction or deletion.

What we collect and why

Forms collect your name, email, optional phone number, postcode, project or business details and consent. We use these to review, respond to and administer your enquiry. We also keep your enquiry reference, submission time and processing status. Please do not submit sensitive information.

Sharing

If you consent to a customer enquiry, we may share its details with suitable hire businesses to seek a response. Suppliers handle information under their own privacy practices. We do not sell your details for unrelated marketing. Hosting and email providers process information needed to operate the service; their infrastructure may be overseas.

Storage and retention

Enquiries are stored on our hosting account and sent to our enquiry inbox. Our default website record retention is 90 days, subject to legitimate operational or legal needs. Email copies, hosting backups and supplier records may follow separate retention schedules. Ask us if you need information removed.

Cookies and calculator data

We use an essential session cookie for form security and administration. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not submitted to us. No advertising pixels or third-party analytics are included in this version. The project planner can optionally save your project inputs in this browser’s local storage. This is off by default; you can clear it in the planner. The quote comparison is not saved. Choosing “Use this brief in an enquiry” temporarily transfers your plan within this browser; it is sent to OpenShed only if you submit the enquiry form. Downloaded briefs and comparisons remain under your control. Hosting access logs may record IP addresses and request details. A hashed network identifier is used temporarily for abuse prevention.

Your choices and complaints

You can ask what information we hold, request correction or deletion, or withdraw permission for future sharing by emailing us. Withdrawal cannot undo information already shared with a supplier. We will review privacy complaints and respond using the contact details you provide.
