Your project checklist

Plan a paving-base project

Prepare a useful supplier brief for a small outdoor paving project, without guessing at engineering or compaction requirements.

Five things to organise

Use this checklist to prepare a supplier brief. It is not an operating method.

  1. Define the area and intended use. Seek competent advice on the base design, drainage and nearby structures.
  2. Locate services before any ground disturbance and check access for material deliveries and equipment.
  3. Ask about the correct compactor for the material, layer requirements and location. Do not infer suitability from price alone.
  4. Include materials, excavation or waste removal, delivery, transport and additional help in the budget.
  5. Ask for a professional quote if ground conditions, structures or access make the job uncertain.
This is a planning checklist. It is not a technical method or substitute for supplier instruction and professional advice.
