Project guides / Plan a non-hazardous project clean-up

Your project checklist

Plan a non-hazardous project clean-up

Choose a suitable vacuum for the actual material, rather than assuming any wet and dry machine will do.

Five things to organise

Use this checklist to prepare a supplier brief. It is not an operating method.

  1. Identify what needs collecting. Do not use an ordinary vacuum for asbestos, silica or other hazardous dust. Seek appropriate professional advice for unknown material.
  2. Describe whether the job is wet, dry or mixed and ask about the exact machine’s capabilities and restrictions.
  3. Confirm filters, bags, attachments, collection capacity and waste handling before hiring.
  4. Measure hose reach, stairs and power access. Include transport and final cleaning requirements.
  5. Compare hiring with a professional clean-up if the material, environment or necessary controls are uncertain.
This is a planning checklist. It is not a technical method or substitute for supplier instruction and professional advice.
