Five things to organise
Use this checklist to prepare a supplier brief. It is not an operating method.
- Identify the wall surface and condition. Ask whether steam is appropriate for your wall.
- Investigate suspect old coatings or materials before disturbing them. Do not scrape or sand unknown hazardous materials.
- Measure the walls and estimate the time needed, allowing for preparation and drying.
- Ask about protection around electrical fittings, safe use and burn prevention.
- Budget for scrapers, floor protection, waste disposal and any wall repairs before repainting.
